Hunger is more than just being hungry. The effects and fallout of a child in hunger explained
Child hunger hits closer to home than you might think. That’s because 1 in 5 children face child hunger in America today, shortchanging the life chances of far too many, too young. “Going to Bed Hungry: The Changing Face of Child Hunger,” from award-winning filmmaker and #brightfuture grant recipient Patrick Creadon, tells this story through the eyes of several American families. Families who are no different from any other, except they often struggle to put enough food on the table.
Hunger is often hidden, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t there. More than 41 million people, including 13 million children, face hunger in the United States. At the same time, 72 billion pounds of safe, wholesome food ends up in America’s landfills each year. Help Feeding America raise awareness about hunger and wasted food in America
